Muss mich eurojet auch anschließen ! Top Modelle und sehr schöner und realistischer Hangar im Hintergrund.

Yes, Maurice, you're right. I'm using balsa wood. But just to create the basic shape. For the final shape i use a special light curing resin as it is used in dentistry ( remainders that can not be used in mouth anymore... ) It is much more stable than just balsa wood and you can get a very smooth surface without a wooden texture. The surface finishing is done by rotating sand paper discs and sand paper from coarse to fine (1000). the landing gears are made of fine thread and the wings of the small jets (thin wings) are made of polystyrene (0,2mm). Thicker wings with are also made of balsa wood. But don't use the cheap balsa wood you can buy at the DIY-shop. It is too soft and gets dented very quick. The balsa wood from the modelling store is much better.... The fuselage of the private jets are made of ABS plastic tubes from the modelling store. And a good spatial sense and manual skill may be helpful. And not to forget: practical experience.

Wow wirklich klasse Modelle Wie lange dauert es eigentlich durchschnittlich, so ein Modell zu bauen?

Mh...schwer zu sagen, da die Modelle nicht in einem Prozess entstehen, sondern ich immer wieder mal daran rumschleife und manche Modelle wo ich einfach nicht weiterkomme erstmal in der Schublade vor sich hin schlummern. Die Phantom hingegen habe ich in relativ kurzer Zeit gebaut. Alles in allem schätze ich gute 2-3h für den Prototypen (ohne Lackieren). Das Abformen mit Silikon und das Dublizieren mit Methacrylat dauert auch nochmal je ca. 30 min. und für das Ausarbeiten, Lackieren und Bekleben nochmal ne Stunde... Das macht dann 3-4std für nen Prototypen und ca. 1 1/2 std für ein Dublikat wenn die Silikonform existiert... Je nach Komplexität des Modells (z.B. B-52) kann das jedoch auch ein paar Stündchen mehr in Anspruch nehmen....
